Backend architecture · Engineering leadership

Saksham Bhardwaj.

I own backend architecture and delivery across commerce services at Jumbotail. I led the engineering integration of Solv and Jumbotail. My recent work covers search systems, production reliability and developer tooling.

Production reliability and engineering tooling

Built shared alerting, reliability dashboards and an always-on local PR-review agent at Jumbotail.

  • Modified and deployed GoAlert for roughly 30 engineers, with infrastructure alerts, team onboarding, on-call schedules and MCP access.
  • Defined service objectives and built SLA, test-environment and coverage dashboards.
  • Built an always-on local PR-review agent to identify bugs and support my code reviews.

Delivery and results

  • GoAlert setup cost approximately $70 per month, compared with approximately $540 per month for Zenduty at $18 per engineer for 30 engineers.
  • Alerting and service-level objectives reduced mean time to detect incidents (MTTD) and Code Red incidents.
  • Reduced my code-review time by 75% with the always-on PR-review agent.

Solv and Jumbotail platform integration

Led Solv’s onboarding onto Jumbotail’s common commerce platform to power both companies’ B2B apps across catalog, search, discovery, cart, offers and merchandising.

  • Defined how Solv’s catalog, cart and offers would work on the shared platform, deciding where new logic belonged and what existing functionality to retire.
  • Coordinated delivery with engineering, design, product, data science, catalog and business teams, identifying integration and feature gaps.

Delivery and results

  • Enabled both Jumbotail and Solv B2B apps on a common commerce platform through incremental releases.

Order-placement performance and reliability

Improved performance and failure handling in the order-placement path at Jumbotail.

  • Improved fault tolerance and recovery workflows for order placement.

Delivery and results

  • Reduced order-placement latency by 75%.
  • Reduced order-placement failures by 90%.

Commerce and engagement systems

Built membership and commerce services, the JIX short-video backend, and product recommendation systems at Jumbotail.

  • Designed and scaled the membership platform. Built offers, search, charge-management and seller-facing platforms from the ground up.
  • Built the backend for JIX, Jumbotail’s short-video platform.
  • Built product recommendation systems supporting sales pitches for customer growth executives and product recommendations in scratch-card rewards.
  • Designed API gateway patterns and documented contracts with OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Implemented inter-service messaging with Kafka, SNS and SQS, policy-based authorization with OPA/Rego, and OAuth authentication flows.

Delivery and results

  • Scaled the membership platform to serve 200K users.
  • JIX served 30K monthly active users.
